David Américo Ortiz Arias was born on November 18, 1975, in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, and became one of the greatest designated hitters in Major League Baseball. David Ortiz was known to teammates and fans as “Big Papi” and his massive smile, and clutch hits earned “Big Papi” a warm spot in every Boston Red Sox fan’s heart.
David is now a TV Sports Broadcaster and remains a Red Sox fan favorite and will likely become a future member of the MLB Hall of Fame.
